Get this Straight!

When it comes to lice prevention, one relatively unknown method is to dry your hair on a hot setting. Drying hair with a hair dryer on a hot setting can help prevent head lice. Styling hair with a curling iron or flat iron can help too because heat kills nits.

A nit is a lice egg. Nits are smooth, oval shaped structures attached to the sides of hair shafts by a type of glue produced by the lice. Nits are most often laid close to the scalp so they can incubate. They tend to accumulate behind the ears and at the nape, where it is dark and warm. Nits take 5–7 days to hatch.

Nothing kills nits in the hair except for dry heat. Live bugs can be terminated with dry heat as well.

The most thorough and natural lice remedy is by combing. Use Happyheads® Bye-Bye Lice Combing Solution and a metal nit comb to remove nits from the hair. Start with the nit comb close to the scalp, and pull it all the way down and off the ends of the hair shafts in order to dislodge the eggs.

Once nits are detected, use Happyheads Bye-Bye Lice Nontoxic Treatment Shampoo every third day, a natural head lice treatment, for two full weeks. It’s important to follow the directions and use the shampoo properly. It’s easy, like regular shampoo. Work it in all over the hair and scalp, and let it soak in for 15–20 minutes, for best coverage. The shampoo will kill any live bugs on contact.

Shampoo, condition, comb and blow-dry. Kids’ scalps are sensitive, so be careful…but think heat! For extra protection, use a flat iron and go for that straightened look.

Happyheads Bye-Bye Lice Nontoxic Treatment Shampoo is all natural, effective and pleasant smelling. Happyheads Bye-Bye Lice Conditioner & Combing Solution will make nit combing much easier and leave hair smooth, soft and fresh.
